What is NITRAN™ ?

Portable system for monitoring nitriding processes with computer software designed to simulate the environmental characteristics of gas nitriding processes.

The system can connect to any type of gas nitriding furnace, whether controlled manually, semi-automatically or automatically. Owing to its mobility, Nitran™ may be connected to several installations in the plant, depending on manufacturing and service needs.
Beyond monitoring and visualizations of nitriding process parameters, another key advantage of Nitran™ is the possibility of recording and archiving process data.


Data collected from processes can be used for process design and predicting nitriding results. These capabilities are what make this system such an innovation.

A measuring unit, equipped with a sampling flow generation system consisting of a variable output pump, a flow sensor and an electronic control system, is used for measuring the furnace atmosphere. The sampling flow generation system permits measurements to be independent of furnace conditions, therefore creating stable sampling conditions. Consequently measurements can be highly accurate.

The system includes:

A measuring unit
equipped with:

  • handling of measuring unit’s elements
  • analyzing data from the sensors
  • data processing
  • basic communication with the user
  • communicating with external devices

An electronics module,
designed for:

  • a hydrogen sensor
  • a sampling flow sensor
  • a sampling pump
  • a unit temperature sensor
  • block heating elements

A connection kit for
connecting 
the device
to the object to be tested
(nitriding furnace)

Software:

Simulation software

Module for simulating and predicting nitriding results. It can determine the optimal values of the process parameters based on the intended end-result. It allows the visualization of the kinetics of growth of individual zones of the nitrided layer.

Maintenance Software

Module for configuring the system’s analyzer, factory calibration and device parameterization according to the customer requirements.

Chart Recorder

Recorder module for reading as well as archiving data on process parameters collected from the I/O module and the analyzer. The collected data is represented in real-time in both graphic and log file formats.
